Last week, I happily discovered Tara Sophia Mohr, a coach to professional women, an inspirational speaker, and a delicious poet. Her passion for women’s well-being and powerful leadership is part of the mosaic of encouragement that empowers me to be my best self.
She just posted her new “Art-Making Poem,” and as I read it, I felt a childlike hope hopping in my belly and warm tears gathering in my eyes. This is what her poems do to me. I’ve pasted my favorite lines below, which happen as usual to be the last lines. But to get there from the top of the poem all the way through will bring you the richest and deepest experience.
See below how she encourages us to gently overcome our fear of creativity, but it’s best if you read the whole poem here.
“Then make something. A little thing.
Look at how it loves you
how it woke up the earth to you
and gave you the life-heart back
how the days are growing long again, as in childhood,
as if time is being given back to you
as you learn how your soul wants to fill it.”
